Servers that support Minecraft 1.9 (Combat Update), ranked by player votes this month.
1.9 Combat Update (2016) changed PvP fundamentally with the attack cooldown, the off-hand slot and shields. It also added the elytra, End cities, shulkers, the chorus plant and tipped arrows.
The new combat split the community: many PvP players preferred the older click-based combat, which is why 1.8 servers remained popular. Servers that list 1.9 are usually running modern versions and accept older clients, or they offer modern-combat PvP modes. Plugins on newer servers can also restore 1.8-style combat for those who prefer it.
Featured servers are shown first: paid placements and five servers picked every day.
