Place generators that produce items over time, sell the output, upgrade to better gens and climb the leaderboard.
Gens servers are built around generators: blocks you place that produce items on a timer. You sell what they drop, buy more and better generators and upgrade your way up a tier list, from basic gens to rare high-value ones. It is an idle-and-optimise loop similar to tycoon games.
A typical Gens server includes:
Gens rewards checking in regularly, so look at whether generators work while you are offline (many only produce while you are online), how the store affects progression and how often the server resets. A clear tier list and visible leaderboards make it easy to track your progress.
Featured servers are shown first: paid placements and five servers picked every day.

Ukraineplay.knight.smp.netUsually not. Most Gens servers only run your generators while you are online, to stop idle accounts from inflating the economy. Some offer offline earnings at a reduced rate, so check the server rules.
Both are about growing your income. Gens focuses on placing and upgrading item-producing generators, while Tycoon usually gives you a plot with droppers, conveyors and machines that you buy and expand in a set order.
