Servers that support Minecraft 1.8 (Bountiful Update), ranked by player votes this month.
1.8 Bountiful Update (2014) added ocean monuments, guardians, slime blocks, armour stands, banners and new stone types. More importantly for servers, it is the last version before the 1.9 attack cooldown.
That is why 1.8 is still alive. Competitive PvP, minigame and practice networks often run 1.8 or keep 1.8 combat, because no-cooldown fighting rewards clicking and combos. Players on modern clients can usually join through ViaVersion, and many 1.8 networks support every client version from 1.8 to the latest release.
